Cake Balls!

Posted by: Anony Miss

For a bridal shower I decited to try out this new thing called cake balls..Ill start by saying they are very time consuming but maybe thats because I allow had to make 260 of them. It can also get costly because you have to buy cake mix frosting and more frosting. I chose not to get the 2 thing of frosting and use chocolate instead it was cheaper. I also didnt use the full 16 oz can of frosting like people said I got 12 oz cans and didnt even use all of that..

I backed 3 cakes. one villinal, one french villina with mango juice in it and a chocolate cake. They looked so perfect it almost hurt me to do what I had to do next.

I took the 12 oz cans of frosting and put them in a bowl because it made it easier.. I had cream cheeses frosting and I mixed come coco power into one to make it slightly more chocolaty. I added some vanilla to another and some mango juice to the other.

Next I took the cake and cut them in to pieces and then put the pieces into a large bowl.. then I took a fork and smashed it into sand like consistence.. it was kinda fun.. at one point i used my hand...

Next i added frosting to the mashed up cakes. I added spoonful by spoonful so that I didnt add to much because adding to much will make them to runny to stay together.. You want to add just enough that it will mash into ball form and stay.. I used a fork and knife cut it into the cake and make sure there was not clumps.

I then took a mellon baler and used it to make the balls..

next I put some of them on sticks and some of them in candy cups and put them on cookie sheets and stuck them in the freezer for an hour.

after pulling them out of the freezer I melted the chocolate, and dipped them in it. I dipped some of them in white and some in milk. (add shortening to chocolate if its to think for dipping) after the chocolate had hardened i took some of the left over frosting colored it and put it on the top to give it a little something.

I then let people eat them and they loved them.. :) they were fun to make!! but took some time..

Invatations

Yay!!! First post! Im going to show you how to make this..

First you need a ruler, some paper I used 12x12, some ribbon and some flowers I used stick ons.

To make the invitations I just made a document in photoshop that was 3x4 i think and designed it how I wanted it to look then but 4 of them onto an 8x11 paper and printed it. cut them out and glued them onto a 4x5 paper.

for the envelope I put the invitation down on the 12x12 and marked the half point.

Measured an inch out from it to make sure there would be folding room.

Then I measured an 1/4 inch around both sides. These will be the folds and where you will be adding glue latter on..

Now cut them out..

Now fold on 1/4 lines that you made..

Fold in half and glue on the 1/4 lines.. I put mine under heave books after i put glue so they would stay together and not pop open.

Next I used a stamp to cut out a shape on the envelop. I put tape on it so I wouldn't put the envelop all the way to the back and cut the shape to far in on the paper..

Next I added to lines or ribbon at the bottom and stuck a flower on it...And bam your done!! this is what they looked like..

Define Crafty!

I've never been the "crafty" girl but with that said I do have an artsy side to me and I love to make things my self. I was just never into the big floral stuff and lace ever were and what people would call crafty. I hope to soon have this blog up and going with pictures and tutorials of projects I have done that may or may not be what you call crafty.. :)
